Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to some common questions about therapy, scheduling, and how to get started.

Are you accepting new clients? How long is your waitlist?
-
I am currently accepting new clients who are interested in nature-based therapy, as well as parents seeking parent coaching. I will also prioritize working with queer and trans youth looking for affirming mental health services. All other inquiries will be reviewed and added to a waitlist for future openings.
How long are sessions and how much do they cost?
-
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and cost $210. Most extended health benefit plans provide coverage for services with a Registered Social Worker.
Do you provide receipts for insurance?
-
Yes. I provide receipts that can be submitted to extended health benefit plans for reimbursement for services provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Coverage varies depending on your specific plan.

Are you seeing clients in person or virtually?
-
I offer both in-person and virtual appointments.
Where is your office located?
-
My office is located in Britannia Village in Ottawa, near Britannia Beach and Mud Lake.
Is nature-based therapy right for my child?
-
Nature-based therapy can be a helpful option for many children and teens, particularly those who feel more comfortable moving, talking, or reflecting while outdoors rather than sitting in a traditional office setting. Being in nature can support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and create a calmer environment for conversation.

-
It can also be helpful for children who feel resistant to therapy or who may have had negative experiences with therapy in the past. For some young people, the more relaxed and less formal setting of being outdoors can make it easier to engage in the process.

What if I’m not sure whether therapy is the right fit?
-
You are welcome to reach out to ask questions before booking. Finding the right support is important, and I am happy to help you determine whether my services may be a good fit for your family.

Do parents attend sessions?
-
Depending on the age of the child and the goals of therapy, sessions may involve the child, the parent, or both. When working with younger children, I typically also work with parents separately as part of the process so that we can support the child together.

-
For older children and teens, privacy and trust are important. Young people are able to decide what they would like to share with their parents, though I often encourage open communication when it feels comfortable and supportive.

-
Strengthening the parent–child relationship is often an important part of the work I do with young people.

How can I add my name to your waitlist?
